ACGHS member John Bepko writes: I have finally reached the end of my time in collecting, restoring, and enjoying my many Erector 8½ series. I have decided to give the cases and parts away, free of charge, to any A.C. Gilbert Heritage Society member who wants them, either by coming to my house or having me pack and ship them for only the cost of packing and postage. I live next to San Diego, California, in Chula Vista. Here is the Inventory of my collection:

    • Six metal 8 ½ series cases only. Two of the cases have been restored (sanding to bare metal, priming, and painted in the official red). New outside decals and inside sheet have been put on. The other boxes are in used, but serviceable condition. I have extra decals and inside sheets.
    • One cardboard 8½ series case only (my original Erector from 1950 is included with many of the original parts, but not all.)
    • Seven motors from the 8½ series, four of which run. The others just need a bit of work.
    • Many Hundreds of parts, organized and sorted by part number, including a lot of girders, wheels, plates and houses. Many original screwdrivers and little wrenches.
    • Over a thousand nuts and screws, all in their original containers.
    • Four manuals in reasonably good condition.
    • Many little fasteners used to keep the parts secured in the cases.

I used to order incomplete 8½ sets online, then assemble the parts to make complete sets. I don’t think what I have on hand now would make a “complete 8½ set” but it might come close.

As I stated, these are all Totally Free of Charge to anyone who wants them. I am home most days, all day, every day. I can be contacted by email (johnbepko@cox.net) or my text (619-200-0796). I look forward to giving these away to a fellow member. John Bepko.
